The Leaders Network Subgroup

I wanted to destroy my suspicions that not many people cared about the environment and that I was alone. I can say with absolute certainty that there is an unbelievable number of people who care deeply about climate change and are fighting hard to change the world. I’m in awe of the depth and breadth of knowledge, talents, and dogged determination that exists in Scotland to make positive change.
— Josie Gibberd, 2050 Climate Group Young Leader

What we do

2050 Climate Group’s Leaders Network is a supportive, collaborative community facilitating opportunities for our Young Leaders to connect and celebrate with each other as we work towards a just and sustainable society.

The network consists of those who have engaged in our projects, including graduates of our Climate Action Leadership Programme (CALP) (previously the Young Leaders Development Programme), 2050x Fund recipients, Climate Circle members, alongside 2050 Climate Group's past and present volunteers, trustees, and staff members.

Film Screening Series

We’re going on tour! We’re hosting a film screening of Why Not Scotland? across the country.

About the film:

Why Not Scotland? is a feature-length documentary, which forms a central part of the Alliance’s Rewilding Nation campaign. The film accompanies Flo, a young Scot from Glasgow, on an intensely personal journey, as she seeks out examples of nature recovery around Europe. Like many of her generation, Flo is concerned by the state of nature and fearful about an uncertain future. However, during her travels, she discovers places where nature is making a spectacular comeback, breathing life back into the landscape and revitalising human communities. Encouraged by these stories of hope and renewal, she is prompted to wonder: Why Not Scotland?

After each screening our team will collect and collate the thoughts and feelings of attendees, with the idea of using them to compare attitudes to rewilding across the country.

Public Event: Transport Policy in Practice

Leaders Network and Policy subgroup joined up to host our event, Transport Policy in Practice
