Date Announced for Youth Climate Summit 2018
We're getting ready for our biggest event of the year! Join us 28th April in Glasgow to explore the 'Just Transition' at Scotland's Youth Climate Summit 'Just for Youth'. Registration for this event is now live, sign up for free here.
WHAT IS THE JUST TRANSITION?
A theory of change for the low carbon transition that seeks to consider and involve all people, parties and groups in the transition so that it is fair and just for everyone.
WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
In order for Scotland to have a fair and just transition, we need to ensure young people’s voices are heard. This event is free and open to any young person between the ages of 18-35 in Scotland who is interested in learning more about the 'Just Transition' and what it means for them.
WHAT WILL BE COVERED?
The event will welcome influential speakers and a host of workshop sessions to explore the following questions:
How can young people starting out in their careers develop skills that are suitable, and how can existing skills be transferred?
How do we ensure people whose livelihoods are based on carbon intensive industries are not left behind in a shift towards a more sustainable economy?
How can young people influence the decision making of nations and businesses to move towards a low carbon, just society?
The event will also showcase how young people in Scotland are taking action on climate change and will identify the role young people hold in driving Scotland through positive change.
